MCFOA Mission Statement        revised 2/21/07

Multi-County Football Officials Association, Football (MCFOA) is an organization of High School Football Officials serving Metro Atlanta, Georgia and surrounding areas. We operate under the jurisdiction of and are sanctioned by the Georgia High School Association (GHSA). The purpose of our association is to promote of the game of High School Football by:

Developing and maintaining a membership consisting of experienced and capable officials whose integrity is above reproach, and who actively engage each year in the officiating of high school football games, and

Fostering a high standard of ethics, encouraging fair and safe play, sportsmanship, close cooperation, and better understanding among officials, athletic directors, coaches, players and spectators.

In fulfillment of our mission, there are several off-the-field activities in which we are involved:

We encourage our members to continually improve their performance through individual and group training opportunities. We have an active training program within the association to help aid our members' efforts. We annually assist GHSA in conducting the summer series of football officials clinics statewide as well as participating in GHSA's continuing program to revise and improve state-mandated standards for football officials' mechanics.

We support several types of outreach into the football community in the Atlanta area. These include an annual series of newsletters to coaches of our contracted schools and an open offer to provide speakers for various audiences who work in support of high school football in the state (booster clubs and the like). We write articles for the local print media. We also provide demonstrations for local high school football TV shows.
