MCFOA Newsletter, Volume 2, Number 7, September 1, 2006
|
This is the seventh in a series of eight planned newsletters from Multi-County Football Officials Association for the 2006 season. The subject of this newsletter is game reports. The term “game report” actually applies to several different documents. GHSA has a Game Report that is required for reporting such exceptions as player or coach ejections. MCFOA has a game report required of all Referees in Varsity games that is filed with the association whether or not there were any exceptional events observed in their game. Neither of these is the primary subject of this newsletter. Instead, the “game report” we hope you’ll be most interested in is the “Evaluate a Crew” link off of our main web page at this web site, www.mcfoafootball.org. Our goal is to provide a well-run game each and every game that we do. We’re also realistic enough to know that there is no such thing as a perfectly-called game. We use our Referees’ game reports to critique our performance from the Referee’s point-of-view. That is important. But it only gives us his perspective. Every bit as important is the perspective of the coaches. You see the game in an entirely different way than we see it as officials. We need your perspective. And the best way we know how to get it is through the Evaluate a Crew link. Very little information is “required” to use this link. We do want to be able to unambiguously identify the game and who is making the report. But other than this, we’ve tried to make the form as flexible and easy-to-use as possible. We encourage you to tell us what you think of our performance in as much detail as you like on every game. We’ll use what you tell us to assist in our training program as well as in rewarding officials and crews for exceptionally good performance, where warranted. If you want feedback from your submission, we will reply on your request. Otherwise, we’ll do the best we can to leave you alone. You’re doing us a favor to let us know what you think. We don’t want communicating with us to be any kind of a burden to you on top of your initial effort. |
