MCFOA Newsletter, Volume 2, Number 1, April 4, 2006

This is the first in a series of eight planned newsletters that Multi-County Football Officials Association will be putting out between now and the end of the 2006 season. This is the second year we have published the newsletter. The idea behind the newsletter is to establish an extra path of communications between MCFOA and our contracted schools. Many of you received last year’s newsletter. We hope you found them both interesting and useful to you. Whether or not we had you under contract last year, we hope that the 2006 newsletter will help you in managing your coaching duties, especially in terms of making the game day experience a good one. This first newsletter of the year is meant as no more than an introduction, short and to the point.

The remaining six newsletters in the 2006 series will be published on this approximate schedule:

4/21/06 V2, N2: Officiating Philosophy and Supporting Mechanics
5/5/06 V2, N3: Communications – Pre-game, In-game, Post-game
5/19/06 V2, N4: Rules Changes for 2006
8/18/06 V2, N5: Who’s Who – Officiating Crew, Position by Position
8/25/06 V2, N6: Game Day, Managing the Football Game
9/1/06 V2, N7: Game Reports
11/10/06 V2, N8: End-of-year Wrap-up

We’re looking forward to another good year of football in 2006. We’ll make every effort to give both you and your opponents the best officiated game we can give you each and every time we step onto the field. Your comments on our performance are more than welcome at any time. In fact, we count on your comments to give us a comprehensive view of how well we do our jobs. We have a link (“Evaluate a Crew”) on our web site, www.mcoafootball.org, designed for just such a purpose. We’ll remind you of this chance to evaluate our crews several more times via these newsletters. Please feel completely free to tell us anything there, good or bad, about any experience you have with us. We’ll do our best to build on the good things you report. And, should you see anything that is out of line, we’ll do all we can to correct that, too.
